The Agency 4!

June 28, 2011 By Ying 274 Comments

Hello friends! I have lovely news to share with you today.

First, A Spy in the House has been nominated for the Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s brand-new John Spray Mystery Award! Can I possibly hold my breath from now until the winners are announced in October?

Second, I’ll be reading, signing, and talking about the Victorians at the Mississauga Public Library on August 27, as their Teen Summer Reading program concludes. I’ll post more details here closer to the event.

And finally, I’m absolutely overjoyed to announce that there will be a fourth and final Agency novel. Its working title is Rivals in the City. There’s no publication date yet (I have to finish the book first!), but I’m so thrilled to be immersed in Mary Quinn’s world, one last time. I hope you’ll agree.

Happy long weekend, Canadian and American readers!

Hi Caroline, and thank you very much for your kind words. I’m sorry to say that right now, there are no plans to translate Rivals in the City into French. I hope this will change, but I don’t have any control over that. Are you able to read it in English?

I cannot wait for the 4th Agency novel to come out. I’m dying to know what happens with the private detective business. I was just looking for a book and your book caught my eye. I got hooked and just finished the 3rd book a few minutes ago and it seemed to kind of leave off. I was hoping you would make a 4th one to finish it all off but I’m definitely going to be sad it’s over. Your book did inspire me to write a book of my own. It is about a girl in 1800’s London but not about a secret agency. Overall, I absolutely loved your books and can’t wait for the 4th one.

I’m a bit confused. I checked amazon and one cover says that the 4th book has already come out but another says that it doesn’t come out till 2015. Have you written the 4th one already?

Hi Bailey, and first of all, I’m sorry for this slow reply! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm. I’m thrilled to know you’ve enjoyed the series so far! Rivals in the City is already out in the UK (green cover) but the US edition will be published in March (purple cover). Does that clarify things?

Bonjour Yaelle, and thank you for stopping by! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the Agency so far. There are only slight differences between the UK and US versions but if I had to choose, I would choose the US version of RIVALS (because it went through one more round of proofreading before going to press). I really hope you enjoy it!

Hello Ying, I wanted a novel read whilst I was waiting for the next Anne Perry novel. Browsed through my granddaughters bookshelf and came across The Agency series which I had bought her a few years ago. She has books 1,2 and 4, 3 is missing ! I’ve read 1 and 2 and purchased 4, I am unable to find a copy of 3 anywhere.I refuse to read book 4 until I’ve read 3. Any suggestions where I can find said novel

Hi Esther, I’m sorry you’re having trouble finding The Traitor in the Tunnel. (I’m also adamant about reading a series in order!) It’s in-stock online (Amazon, Chapters/Indigo, etc) and good booksellers should be happy to special-order a copy if they don’t already have it on the shelves. Happy reading, and I hope you enjoy it!
