The model is perfect. Much as I imagined her while reading.
It’s wonderful you got photos from the cover shoot. I love that they used a real model and costume for the cover art. I’d thought it was just a fabulous drawing.
I just finished your first book,The Agency, and absolutely loved it. Stayed up late reading it. I’ve ordered the second in your series and can’t wait. I requested our local library to carry it because I hope lots of girls will read it.

Thanks for stopping by, Kathleen, and I’m so glad you enjoyed Spy! I’m so in love with the covers, too; all the credit belongs to Candlewick. I hope you enjoy Body just as much. And thank you for petitioning your local library!

The model is lovely. However I recall that in the book Anne/Felicity say that she’s not beautiful, but that she is exotic. I guess my real question is how does the Mary Quinn in your (Ms. Lee’s) imagination differ from the model?

That’s a great question, Meghan. “My” Mary is certainly not head-turningly beautiful like the model! But for me, the difference goes beyond facial features: the model is very open and languid in her body language, and (logically enough) she expects to be looked at and admired. Mary is much more tentative, tense, wary – she would hold her body very differently. Does that make sense? How do you imagine MQ?
